How can cities regulate transit to inclusively develop their transit industry?
Walter is a transportation and development leader and advocate. As the CEO of the global transportation thinktank ITDP for 21 years, Walter co-developed the BRT Standard, the TOD Standard, and brought transit projects to fruition worldwide.
Annie has 18 years in public, private and nonprofit transportation planning. Annie launched a major program to bring gold-standard BRT to cities across the US, and is now the President of a consulting firm working on BRT projects worldwide.
Larson is a transit operations specialist with experience across bus, rail, and aviation, in data visualization, service planning and analysis, and program evaluation. Larson is also actively engaged in pro bono economic and education development work in Senegal.
Xiaomei is a nationally accredited senior engineer in the People’s Republic of China and one of the most experienced BRT system engineers in the world. She has been Chief Engineer of the Guangzhou Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute, since 1997 and formerly served as Technical Director to ITDP China.
Karl has worked on implemented BRT projects in Guangzhou, Yichang, Lanzhou, Jakarta, and Ahmedabad. He was instrumental in getting bike sharing and cycling facilities introduced into several Chinese cities, and in popularizing the concept of TOD and parking management in numerous Chinese cities.
Michael King works with progressive governments, developers, universities, and NGOs to invert the dominant auto-centric paradigm and advance a green mobility ethos. He explores history and potential, develops forward-thinking initiatives, and works collaboratively to implement.
Oscar has 22 years of experience in urban transportation planning. He is widely recognized for leading the planning and implementation of transport projects in the Americas, Africa and Asia. From 2016-2019 he served as Special Advisor on Mobility to Enrique Peñalosa, Mayor of Bogota, Colombia.
